About the Chair of SOUND control

Dr Inge Santman-Berends works at GD Animal Health as a senior veterinary epidemiologist and leads the Epidemiology group of GD.

Her work focuses mainly on monitoring and surveillance of cattle health, development of products where data is transformed into valuable information for farmers and veterinarians, and innovation projects carried out at GD Animal Health.

Inge is an enthusiastic researcher who is committed to high quality research and is both scientifically and practically oriented. She loves to add value by translating large amounts of data into practical and understandable information for stakeholders. Her goal, which is also reflected in the SOUND control COST Action, is to contribute to a livestock industry that focuses on preventive medicine rather than cure and supports high health and animal welfare standards.
