Successful first day of the training school on monitoring and surveillance
Today, the first day of the training school on monitoring and surveillance was organized. Due to COVID it was decided to move the training school from a face-to-face event in Slovenia to an online event. The training was coordinated by Maria Guelbenzu (IE) with the technical support of Tanja Knific (SI). Maria, Tanja, Jörn Gethmann (DE) and John Berezowski (CH) acted as trainers and were supported by Carola Sauter (DE) and Inge Santman (NL).
In total 23 trainees from a large variety of European countries participated in the training school. The first day comprised of a combination of lectures, excel exercises, MentiMeter surveys and a break-out discussion sessions.
On the first day topics that were covered included disease measures, risk analysis, diagnostic test characteristics and sample sizes.
The second day will be dedicated on the subjects of monitoring and surveillance and risk-based surveillance.
